A Legacy of Transition

Founded informally in 2000 as the Geneva Petroleum Club, the organization began when three oil executives met to discuss upstream developments. The Club grew rapidly, attracting senior professionals from the exploration and production sectors.

• 2003: Formally registered in the Canton of Geneva with its first elected Executive Committee.

• 2020: In response to the shifting global landscape, members voted to broaden the organization’s scope beyond petroleum.

• 2021: At an Extraordinary AGM, the transformation into the Geneva Energy Forum (GEF) was unanimously approved.

This evolution reflects our commitment to the "Energy Trilemma": ensuring energy remains affordable, reliable, and sustainable. Today, the GEF serves as a premier hub for expertise and networking across the entire energy value chain.
